WORKSHOP IN BOUDHHA, NEPAL

In December 2025, we held a week-long, in-person writing workshop for twenty students ages 14–17, with sessions both in their residential encampment and at Lord’s Light Academy, the school they attended. Throughout the week, we guided students through crafting, revising, and sharing their work, and each student received a culminating anthology with the works they were most proud of. Many participants had only recently begun formal schooling, with limited prior access to literature or creative writing. We designed the curriculum to build foundational writing skills—observation, imagery, voice, and revision—while cultivating confidence and joy in the creative process, and we adapted lessons daily to meet both the students’ English proficiency and the limited access to materials.
